TIMINGS
Most guards have 12 hours of rotating job shift with 7 days break in a month. This job can be in 2 parts:
- Six hours on the job are spent on checking gate passes and entry of people.
- Six hours are spent unlocking gates, walking through buildings and making reports.
Midnight shifts are the hard part of being a security guard, and this contributes to lack of normal sleep.
SALARY
A fresher security guard with less than 1 year of experience can earn an average salary of Rs 15000 per month, whereas a guard with 1- 4 years of experience can earn an average of about Rs 18000-20000 per month. Guards with more than 7-8 years of experience can earn more than Rs 25000 per month.
